Bantam B Team Wins State Championship PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to the Bozeman Icedogs Bantam B team, which capped a great season by winning the state championship with a thrilling 4-3 victory over archrival Butte in the title game. Head Coach Chris Kastella characterized the weekend as "a total team effort" that was anchored by excellent goaltending from netminder Brett Hinman.

The Icedogs beat Salmon 6-4 in the opener and then suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 setback to Missoula. Regrouping, the team roared into the semi-finals and defeated the host Billings Bulls 4-2 before dismantling the undefeated Blues of Butte in the final. In addition to winning the state championship, this BAHA bantam squad finished atop of the seven-team Treasure State League regular season standings with 11 wins, two losses and three ties.
