Sponsored by the Gallatin Hockey Officials’ Association
A USA Hockey sanctioned officials’ seminar will be held on Saturday, October 16th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Reach, Inc. (322 Gallatin Park Dr. just off Manley Road near the East Gallatin Recreation Area). Plan on arriving between 7:30AM and 7:45AM to fill out paperwork so that we can begin promptly at 8:00AM.
The seminar will consist of eight hours of combined classroom and on-ice instruction from certified USA Hockey instructors as well as one hour of lunch time and travel time between Reach, Inc., and the Haynes Pavilion.
YOU MUST BRING A HELMET AND SKATES or you will not be allowed to participate. Returning officials should bring their gear, finger whistle, notepad, pencil, 2010-2011 rulebook and officiating manuals.
The fee for the seminar and membership in GHOA will be $20.00 payable at the door. This will cover expenses for the ice rental, coffee and donuts for the morning session, lunch, and annual dues for GHOA.
There are three steps to become completely registered as a USA Hockey official:
1. Complete a USA Hockey Referee Application Form and pay the registration fee on line at http://www.usahockey.com.
2. Complete and pass the open book exam on line. (Level 2 and 3 officials must also pass a closed book exam administered at the seminar.)
3. Attend a USA Hockey officials’ seminar like this one.
More information is available at http://www.ghoa.net.
Please pre-register by emailing Brad Ramsay at
brad.ramsay@ghoa.net
Anyone interested in coaching youth hockey this season has the opportunity to attend the following USA Hockey sponsored Coaching Certification Clinics. Every adult who is on the ice during a USA Hockey sanctioned practice MUST be certified. BAHA will reimburse clinic costs for levels 1-3.
